Job summary

Hopkins Center for Rehabilitation & Healthcare in Brooklyn, NY, is seeking an experienced RN Unit Manager to lead nursing operations on the units and coach staff toward clinical excellence. Qualifications

• Active New York State RN License required.
• Previous nursing supervisory or unit management experience in a skilled nursing or rehabilitation setting preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of skilled nursing clinical practices, regulatory standards, and quality improvement processes.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership, direction, and oversight of daily nursing operations on the assigned unit.
• Supervise, mentor, and support nursing staff to ensure safe, effective, and compassionate resident care.
• Collaborate closely with the Director of Nursing (DON) and interdisciplinary team to maintain clinical excellence and operational efficiency.
• Monitor resident conditions, identify changes in clinical status, and ensure timely assessments, interventions, and follow-up.
• Oversee nursing documentation, care planning, medication administration practices, and compliance with established clinical protocols.
• Ensure adherence to facility policies, infection prevention standards, and state and federal regulatory requirements.
• Participate in quality assurance, performance improvement initiatives, and ongoing survey readiness.
• Promote effective communication among nursing staff, physicians, residents, and families.
• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
