Job summary

Merwick Post Acute in New Jersey is seeking a dedicated Unit Manager with an RN license to lead a nursing unit and ensure high-quality, resident-centered care. This full-time role reports to the Director of Nursing and supports interdisciplinary teams in a 200-bed sub-acute and long-term care setting.

Qualified candidates will have at least five years of nursing experience and two years of supervisory experience, valid NJ RN license, and BLS.

Qualifications

• Must have current NJ RN license.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum five years nursing experience.
• Minimum two years supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Assume full responsibility and accountability for resident care on the assigned nursing unit.
• Oversee and coordinate resident care to promote highest possible physical, mental, and psychosocial functioning.
• Ensure timely and accurate incident reporting with appropriate follow-up and communication to the Administrator and Director of Nursing.
• Participate in facility committees and programs as directed by the Director of Nursing.
• Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of policies and procedures based on identified clinical and operational needs.
• Provide clinical leadership, guidance, and support to nursing staff on the unit.
• Monitor compliance with care plans, regulations, and quality standards to ensure optimal resident outcomes.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support resident-centered care and continuous improvement.
