Job summary

Sunnyside Care Center is seeking an RN Unit Manager to lead and supervise the nursing team on a 40-bed unit. The role focuses on planning, organizing, developing and overseeing day-to-day nursing activities to ensure high-quality patient care and a safe care environment.

Ideal candidates have prior medical setting experience and supervisory responsibilities, and will coordinate care plans, communicate with physicians, and uphold QA processes to provide compassionate, dignified care.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising nursing staff in a medical setting.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the highest quality patient care is provided on a 40-bed unit.
• Maintain a safe, effective resident care environment at all times.
• Assess and document residents' care needs at admission and after significant changes in condition.
• Oversee physician orders for medications, dressings, tube feedings, and oxygen monitoring.
• Foster strong working relationships with the facility's medical staff.
• Notify attending physicians and designated guardians of changes in condition.
• Prioritize tasks, address staffing issues, and support goals and customer service.
• Record and investigate accidents/incidents as needed.
• Conduct daily unit rounds to monitor and improve nursing care.
