Job summary

Fieldston Lodge Care Center in New York is seeking an RN Nurse Manager for an immediate opportunity on a 40 bed unit. The ideal candidate will have strong assessment skills, be self-directed, and able to multitask while coordinating resident care on the unit.

We value leadership, effective communication with staff, physicians, and residents' families, and knowledge of nursing home regulations, care plans, and MDS.

Qualifications

• RN license and current licensure in New York.
• Experience in geriatric care and nursing home settings.
• Knowledge of nursing home regulations, care plans, and MDS.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the Director of Nursing.
• Assesses resident needs.
• Develops individual care plans.
• Work with the MDS coordinator.
• Administers nursing care.
• Evaluates nursing care and supervises LPNs, Nurses' Aides and other staff.
• Coordinates planning, implementation and evaluation of resident care on a 24 hour basis.
• Holds regular meetings to discuss goals and problems to promote better care and strengthen relationships.
• Uses current nursing trends to coordinate staff responsibilities for quality care on unit.
• Participates in physician rounds, wound rounds, team conferences, care meetings and in-services.
• Keeps Nursing Administration apprised of resident problems/concerns.
• Other responsibilities as directed.

Fieldston Lodge Care Centeris seeking an RN Nurse Manager, candidate sought for immediate opportunity for a 40 bed unit. RN Nurse Manager must have good physical assessment skills, be self-directed and able to multitask. Candidate should be able to function in a leadership role to coordinate resident care on the unit. Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with staff, physicians, and resident's families are essential. Should be current on nursing home regulations, care plans, and MDS.

RN Registered Nurse Unit Manager Duties and Responsibilities:

• Under the direction of the Director of Nursing
• Assesses resident needs
• Develops individual care plans
• Work with the MDS coordinator
• Administers nursing care
• Evaluates nursing care and supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Nurses' Aides and other personnel in the delivery of nursing care.

RN Registered Nurse Unit Manager Responsibilities:

• Coordinates the planning, implementation and evaluation of resident care on a 24 hour basis.
• Holds regular scheduled meetings for nursing and ancillary staff to discuss goals and problems in order to promote better nursing care and strengthen staff relationships and rapport.
• Utilizes knowledge of current trends and practice standards of nursing including acute, geriatric, and rehabilitative concepts to coordinate staff responsibility for providing quality care on unit
• Participates in physician rounds, wound rounds, team conferences, care meetings and in-services.
• Responsible for keeping Nursing Administration apprised of resident problems/concerns.
• Other responsibilities as directed.
