Lakeside Center for Rehabilitation & Healing in Jacksonville, FL seeks an experienced RN Unit Manager to oversee nursing staff and coordinate patient care during the assigned shift, ensuring safe, efficient, and therapeutic outcomes aligned with facility policies.

Experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is preferred; the role demands strong leadership, collaboration with shifts, and readiness to step in for the ADON and DON when needed.

Qualifications

• RN with license required; experience supervising nursing staff preferred.
• Experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is preferred.
• Strong leadership and coordination abilities within a nursing unit.

Responsibilities

• Interprets facility policy and state law as related to nursing services.
• Participates in facility safety procedures and programs.
• Informs the ADON of nursing activities, needs, problems, and unusual events.
• Recommends purchases of supplies and equipment for nursing services.
• Performs routine nursing service checks on staff, timecards, equipment, materials, supplies, etc.
• Makes recommendations to hire, promote, suspend, and terminate nursing staff.
• Assists with in-service education programs and follow-up evaluation.
• Investigates and reports complaints.
• Charges the Floor in the absence of charge nurse/assist charge nurse with daily duties.

RN Unit Manager Description:

The RN Unit Manager (registered nurse) will be responsible for staff, management, and coordination of nursing service activities for the scheduled working shift in accordance with established philosophy, objectives, and policies of the facility to ensure safe, efficient, and therapeutic patient care. He or she will relate effectively with other shifts for continuity of care and in the absence of the ADON and Director of Nursing will take charge.

RN with Long term care or skilled nursing experience preferred.

RN Unit Manager Duties and Responsibilities:

2. Participates in facility safety procedures and programs.
3. Informs the ADON of nursing activities, needs, problems, and unusual events.
4. Recommends the purchase of supplies and equipment required for the nursing service.
