Job summary

Embassy HealthCare in Hermitage, PA is seeking an experienced RN Unit Manager to oversee nursing operations, staffing, and quality of care in the long‑term care setting. You will collaborate with the Director of Nursing to ensure safe, compliant, person‑centered care.

The role requires PA RN license, leadership skills, and prior administration experience; we offer growth opportunities, non‑on‑call schedule options, PTO from day one, and full‑time benefits.

Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered PA RN license required.
• Experience in nursing administration (Head Nurse/Supervisor) preferred.
• Experience in Long Term Care or Geriatrics preferred.
• At least two years of staff nursing experience, preferably in medical-surgical care.

• Assist the Director of Nursing in determining and maintaining nursing staff needs.
• Develop work assignments and schedule duty hours.
• Delegate administrative authority to Charge Nurses and Nurse Supervisors.
• Conduct daily rounds to ensure nursing work assignments meet standards.
• Monitor absenteeism and ensure adequate staffing.
• Participate in developing, planning, and conducting in‑service training programs.
• Oversee Safety and Sanitation, Equipment and Supply functions, Care Plan and Assessment Functions, Budget and Planning Functions, and Resident Rights.

Location: Hermitage, PA. Department: Nursing. FLSA Status: Non‑Exempt. Shift options: Part‑time, Full‑time, Per Diem with 3p‑11p, 11p‑7a, or 7p‑7a. No on‑call required.

Qualifications & Experience

• Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse license in Pennsylvania.
• Experience in nursing administration as Head Nurse, Supervisor, or comparable role.
• Experience in Long Term Care or Geriatrics preferred.
• At least two years of staff nursing, preferably in medical‑surgical care.

Specific Requirements

• Ability to make independent decisions when required.
• Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public.
• Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to long‑term care.
• Leadership and supervisory ability; willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.
• Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures necessary for quality care.
• Patience, tact, cheerful disposition, enthusiasm, and willingness to handle difficult residents.
