Job description

Job Summary:
The RN Unit Manager at Mountain Ridge Health & Rehab is a full-time, hourly healthcare/medical position located in Black Mountain, North Carolina. This role is responsible for managing and overseeing the nursing unit, ensuring high-quality patient care, and providing leadership and mentoring to the nursing staff. The ideal candidate will have prior management experience, strong clinical knowledge, and excellent communication and organizational skills.

Compensation & Benefits:
The RN Unit Manager position at Mountain Ridge Health & Rehab offers a competitive hourly salary of $36 to $43 per hour, paid semi-monthly. In addition to the base salary, this position also offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and educational assistance.

Responsibilities:

- Must possess the ability to work independently, must possess the skills and abilities to function in the capacity of a nurse or nurse aide when needed.
- Oversee and manage the nursing unit to ensure efficient operation and delivery of high-quality patient care
- Develop and implement appropriate staffing schedules, taking into consideration patient needs and budget constraints
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to the nursing staff, including conducting performance evaluations and providing ongoing training and development opportunities
- Monitor and maintain compliance with all state and federal regulations, as well as facility policies and procedures
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure coordinated and efficient patient care
- Assist with the development and implementation of policies and procedures to improve patient care and staff performance
- Act as a liaison between the nursing staff, patients, families, and physicians to address any concerns or issues
- Participate in the budgeting process and manage the unit's expenses within budget constraints
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation

Requirements:
- Active RN license in the state of North Carolina
- Minimum of 2-3 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or management role
- Strong clinical knowledge and understanding of nursing best practices
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with other departments and staff members
- Familiarity with state and federal regulations related to nursing homes and long-term care facilities
- Computer proficiency and experience with electronic medical records systems
