You will function in a charge nurse/staffing capacity, with duties including audits, staff schedules, patient experience, and committee work. A BSN and at least 18 months of nursing experience are required, with a night shift schedule 7PM-7AM and eligibility for night differential.

Position Overview

As a Unit Coordinator, you will function in a charge nurse / staffing capacity role at times, but also have alternate tasks ranging from audits, staff schedules, patient experience, and committee work. 5 East at Sentara Leigh Hospital is a 25-bed inpatient post-surgical specialty unit dedicated to caring for adult patients as they recover from a wide range of surgical procedures. Our highly collaborative nursing team works hand in hand with our surgeon teams and other disciplines to coordinate individualized, patient-centered care, support recovery, and prepare patients for a safe transition home. Teamwork is at the heart of our unit, with a strong focus on communication, shared problem-solving, and supporting one another while caring for complex post-surgical patients. Nurses on 5 East develop specialized skills in post-operative assessment, pain management, mobility, wound and ostomy care, and the management of tubes, drains, catheters, and other surgical devices.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $47.42 - $68.63 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
