Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA is hiring a Registered Nurse Unit Coordinator for a day shift on 7N, a 16-bed IMC unit. The role provides clinical leadership, improves safety, quality, and workflow, and supports staff development.

Requirements include BSN, 18 months of nursing experience, Virginia RN license, and BLS within 90 days. Master’s degree preferred if not in nursing, otherwise BSN required. Sentara offers comprehensive benefits and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• 18 months nursing experience required.
• BSN required; Master degree preferred, if the graduate degree is not in nursing then the BSN is required.
• BLS required within 90 days of hire.
• Professional Specialty Nursing Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates proficiency in nursing practice for assigned specialty area and provides clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department.
• Under the direction of the department manager leads safety and quality initiatives, focuses on and simplifies workflow, and contributes to the development of staff.
• Increase staff satisfaction and promotes excellent (Gold Standard) customer service.
