Job summary

AdventHealth Sebring is seeking an experienced RN for the night shift to provide compassionate, patient-centered care on a busy unit. You will assess, plan, and monitor patients, coordinate with the interdisciplinary team, and ensure safe medication administration in a faith-based, holistic care environment.

Requirements include an Associate's degree in Nursing, RN license, BLS, and at least 1 year of acute care experience. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

• 1+ year of acute care experience required.
• RN license and BLS certification required.
• Ability to work as part of a unit and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Prioritizes and completes follow-up assessments and updates care plans.
• Interprets diagnostic data and lab results for patient condition.
• Administers medications and adheres to infection prevention and safety standards.
• Communicates with patients, families, and staff to ensure quality care.
• Maintains accurate EMR documentation and participates in care planning.

Job Description:

• Prioritizes and completes follow-up assessments, evaluating and modifying care plans as needed.
• Demonstrates the ability to assess and interpret diagnostic data relative to patient age and condition, including lab results, non-invasive monitoring data, and interdisciplinary team notes.
• Applies knowledge and skills pertaining to all diagnoses, procedures, medications, complications, and equipment associated with the unit patient population.
• Adheres to all pertinent regulatory standards, follows strict infection prevention precautions, and ensures medication safety.
• Promotes an exceptional patient experience through effective communication with patients, families, and visitors, including hourly rounding.
• Utilizes appropriate techniques, verbiage, and resources in all interactions with patients to their level of understanding.
• Communicates effectively with the interdisciplinary team by completing thorough hand-off communication in all situations.
• Demonstrates knowledge and skill in recording and accessing all patient information in electronic medical records according to policy and in real time.
• Participates in practice changes, process improvement initiatives, and completes all required education by the due date.
• Completes timely assessments per Practice Guidelines, considering physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors, including signs of abuse or neglect.
• Makes appropriate decisions and interventions based on patients' actual or potential health conditions or needs.
• Sets measurable and achievable short and long-range goals for patients, assisting in the development and implementation of individualized care plans.
• Other duties as assigned.
