Job summary

AdventHealth Sebring in Florida is hiring a registered nurse (RN) to support patient care across the unit. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to promote safe, timely care, perform comprehensive assessments, and contribute to discharge planning.

The role requires an active RN license, BLS certification, NIHSS certification, and 1+ year of acute care experience. Eligible candidates may receive sign-on and relocation bonuses, with benefits from day one and career development

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with the team to manage patient flow and ensure timely admissions, discharges, and transfers
• Performs comprehensive data collection and initial patient assessments
• Documents and communicates handoffs clearly between caregivers
• Contributes to patient safety, quality of care, and regulatory compliance
• Participates in rounding and patient-centered care activities
• Engages in patient and family teaching and discharge planning

Job Description:

• Shift-Day Up to $15,000 Sign-On Bonus * For Eligible Candidates Up to $15,000 Relocation Bonus * For Eligible Candidates
• Collaborates and demonstrates teamwork in managing patient flow, promoting timely patient placement by following hospital policy for admission, discharge, and transfer.
• Participates in peer interviewing and peer review processes.
• Considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost, and impact on practice in the delivery of nursing services.
• Collects comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health and unit-specific data for process improvement initiatives.
• Conducts initial patient assessments within expected timeframes, initiate consults as indicated, and identify patient/family teaching and discharge planning needs.
• Maintains safe practice by demonstrating unit-specific clinical competency and compliance with all regulatory standards.
• Ensures safe and effective handoff communications and documentation between caregivers.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Communicates courteously with internal and external customers in person or on the telephone.
• Demonstrates respect for co-workers and develops positive working relationships with other departments.
• Participates in hourly rounding using the AIDET technique to improve patient outcomes.
• Incorporates Caring Model behaviors and culturally competent care into daily practice.
• Adheres to organizational standards for dress and professional appearance.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification [Required]
• Competence with the EPIC charting system [Preferred]

Education:

• Associate's of Nursing [Required]
• Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]

Work Experience:

• 1+ years of recent and relevant experience [Required]
• 2+ years acute care nursing [Preferred]
