Job summary

HCA Florida Aventura Hospital is seeking an experienced RN to join the Trauma OR team. You will evaluate patients preoperatively, educate families, and lead perioperative care with a focus on safety and efficiency in a high-acuity setting.

The role requires active RN licensure, an associate degree, and certification timelines for ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC. A minimum of one year in the OR is expected, with no travel required.

Qualifications

• Active RN license required.
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS must be obtained within 30 days of start date.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course completed within 6 months.
• 1 year minimum OR nursing experience in a hospital setting.
• No travel required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education about perioperative care.
• Prepare patients including IV therapy, preop meds, and site verification.
• Participate in surgical site verification and universal protocols.
• Recognize and respond to emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team and lead with clinical judgment.
• Document patient condition and care changes accurately.
• Educate patients and families about conditions and follow-up.
