Position Summary

The incumbent is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for a patient assignment through therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, and collaboration with other healthcare team members. The incumbent, as a member of the healthcare team, appropriately assists team members in providing holistic care to patients and their support systems, with an awareness of cost containment and time management.

*Qualifications*

Minimum Qualifications

• 1 year recent open heart OR critical care experience. May consider training with one year of Telemetry or Step Down experience if operational conditions exist.
• Training positions require completion of basic critical care and dysrhythmia classes.
• Associate degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing.
• Verbal and written communication skills and computer skills.
• Current California Registered Nurse license.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification (must be certified through the American Heart Association).
• PALS must be obtained within 12 months of hire into the position.

Preferred Qualifications

• 12-lead EKG and shock class completion preferred.
