Job summary

Baylor University Medical Center, part of Baylor Scott & White Health, is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Trauma ICU in Dallas, TX. This full-time night shift position offers opportunities to care for high-acuity trauma patients and participate in a range of educational and professional development activities.

Open Status: Full Time. Shifts: 7:00pm - 7:00am Nights. RN bonuses, relocation assistance, comprehensive benefits, and strong governance in a collaborative environment are provided.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program.
• RN license/certification required.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Deliver care to high-acuity trauma ICU patients in a fast-paced environment (brain, spine, orthopedic, chest and abdominal injuries).
• Collaborate with trauma leadership to foster learning, mentoring and professional development on the unit.
• Provide 24-hour on-unit provider coverage and participate in unit initiatives to improve patient outcomes.

Patient Population:

High acuity traumatically injured patients including brain, spine, orthopedic, blunt and penetrating chest and abdominal trauma, abdominal transplants, and general surgical care requiring ICU

Patient Ratios: 1:2

Department Specifics:

23 beds, 1 of 3 adult trauma centers in Dallas, covering 21 counties (18,000 square miles), and 5 million residents. 24h on unit provider coverage. AACN Beacon Award winning unit. Multitude of unit committees, including strong practice council.

Registered Nurse Requirements

• Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program
