Job summary

Medical City Plano, part of HCA Healthcare, invites qualified RNs to join as an RN Coordinator. You will facilitate patient transfer, placement, and movement across facilities, coordinating with referral sources, physicians, and hospital staff to optimize throughput and patient safety.

The role emphasizes teamwork, problem solving, regulatory knowledge (EMTALA), and proficiency with bed management and clinical information systems.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 3+ years’ clinical experience in an acute care setting (ED/CCU preferred).
• RN License in applicable states; multi-state license may be required.
• Knowledge of hospital operations, patient care practices and EMTALA.

Responsibilities

• Performs transfer center functions with timely, patient-centered care.
• Coordinates transfer of emergent, urgent, and elective patients to final destination.
• Facilitates patient throughput with focus on quality and efficiency.
• Promotes teamwork and effective communication with staff and physicians.
• Maintains accurate data in patient records and center workflow systems.
• Proficient in navigating technology platforms and databases.
• Assesses patient acuity and assists with plan of care and disposition.
• Trs prioritizes patient information and communicates clinical presentation clearly.
• Acts as consultant/mediator for physicians, NPs, PAs and staff.
• Ensures regulatory compliance and participates in bed management meetings.
