Qualifications

  • Must have a valid Registered Nursing License and be a graduate of an accredited nursing program.

Summary of Job Duties: As individuals dedicated to ensuring the safety and quick recovery of our patients, nurses are integral members of a team dedicated to providing the best care for patients through collaboration, communication, and patient safety. As part of the TOSH teams, Preop and PACU nurses define their practice through attention to nursing excellence and outstanding patient care, are driven by their expertise, compassion, and dedication to evidence-based practice, and operate at a higher level of practice. If you are an RN who has current Preop and PACU experience, we invite you to consider a career with The Orthopaedic & Spine Hospital at UAMS Health.

The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide direct patient care as an RN. This professional nursing role will require the ability to coordinate care for patients, triage patients, and work collaboratively with clinic providers, fellows, and staff. Requires the ability to effectively work with patient referral sources, facilitate appointments, coordinate transitions of care, and provide patient education on complex conditions. The RN will work with the individual patient, their families, and providers of care to develop and implement individual health plans.
Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Associate’s degree in Nursing, Diploma RN, or Master’s degree in Nursing.

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited RN nursing program

  • Valid Registered Nursing License

  • Minimum of 1 year of Registered Nursing experience;

  • Basic computer skills.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Strong work ethic and accountability.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current BLS

  • ACLS certification

  • Scrubbing experience

  • Orthopedic experience a plus

  • EPIC experience


Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

  • Collects and documents assessment data from patients and/or others per UAMS standard.

  • Develops patient's Plan of Care (POC) per department/unit standards utilizing assessment data.

  • Evaluates the progress of patients toward the attainment of desired outcomes.

  • Administers medication following department/unit standards and the Nurse Practice Act.

  • Verifies and evaluates care delivered to ensure it is consistent with patient and family-centered care principles, practice standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Supports the integration of current evidence into nursing practices.

  • Promotes an environment conducive toa positive educational experience for all students and staff.

  • Provides effective patient/family education/discharge planning.

  • Effectively collaborates and communicates with nursing staff at all levels, interdisciplinary teams, executive leaders, and other stakeholders.

  • Communicates care appropriately through documentation in the medical record.

  • Reports variances in care/ systems/ processes through the appropriate means.

  • Participates in the recruitment/retention of staff.

  • Facilitates the development and implementation of nursing practice standards that are evidence-based and in compliance with ANA standards.

  • May perform other duties as assigned.
