Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking a Telephonic Nurse Case Manager in Florida to provide independent telephonic case management for workers’ compensation injuries across multiple states. You will assess, plan, coordinate, and advocate for injured workers using evidence-based resources and effective communication.

The role supports optimal physical, psychosocial, and vocational outcomes while ensuring timely, cost-effective care.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of telephonic or field workers’ compensation case management experience
• Proficient in evaluating medical records and coordinating treatment plans
• Strong clinical assessment and independent decision-making skills
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication
• Organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation and case management
• Ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of HIPAA and regulatory compliance
• Understanding of medical terminology and evidence-based treatment protocols
• Experience coordinating UR, IMEs, and peer review
• Ability to interpret complex medical records for case planning

Responsibilities

• Provide independent telephonic case management for a multi-state caseload
• Manage cases with sound clinical and claim-based decision making
• Apply nursing process to case management standards
• Complete timely initial contact within 48 hours
• Develop and manage individualized treatment plans
• Coordinate medical services to support recovery
• Educate injured workers on diagnosis and return-to-work goals
• Monitor progress and coordinate care
• Identify barriers to recovery and mitigate delays
• Evaluate treatment plans, medical necessity, and causation
• Drive safe return-to-work planning with employers
• Participate in case reviews with multidisciplinary teams
• Maintain compliant documentation in all systems
