The caregivers at Euclid Hospital have made it an excellent medical facility and a welcoming home away from home.

Euclid Hospital’s 8th-floor Med/Surg and Telemetry Unit is a 31-bed unit specializing in advanced telemetry. It has an average daily census of 25 and includes 7 private rooms, 10 semi-private rooms, and a 4-bed observation room for patients who may be confused, at risk of falls, or require visual monitoring. Known for their assessment skills and teamwork, caregivers in this unit provide patient-centered and relationship-based care to adult and geriatric patients with various medical-surgical diagnoses.

A caregiver in this position works 7:00am – 7:30pm.

A Caregiver Who Excels In This Role Will

• Participate in a residency core curriculum tailored to individual learning needs.
• Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach.
• Establish and revise care priorities based on patient acuity, preferences, and resources.
• Respond to data indicating patient health risks and initiate corrective actions.
• Seek supervision, consultation, and assistance when necessary for safety and independence.
• Document care in patients’ medical records.

Minimum Qualifications For The Ideal Future Caregiver Include

• Graduate from an accredited nursing school.
• Current RN licensure in the state.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• New graduate RN or less than one year of RN experience.

Preferred Qualifications For The Ideal Future Caregiver Include

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Physical Requirements

• Full range of motion, handling and lifting patients, manual dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
• Extended standing and walking.
• Corrected vision and hearing to normal ranges.
• Ability to work under stress and irregular hours.
• Exposure to communicable diseases and body fluids.
• Medium Work: exerting 20-50 pounds occasionally, 10-25 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly.
