Qualifications

• Specialized Diploma graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
• BSN or completion of BSN within 3 years of hire strongly preferred.
• 1 year RN experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of patient- and family-centered practice and how to collaborate with diverse patients and families.
• Knowledge of cultural awareness and how to engage with diverse populations in care planning.
• Understanding of effective communication and partnering with patients and families.
• Knowledge of patient assessment, care planning, and clinical judgment.
• Knowledge of health information documentation and recording medical information.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with coworkers and patients, integrating evidence-based practice and cultural beliefs for optimal care.
• Identifies learning needs with patients and families and provides education.
• Uses information technology to communicate and monitor care outcomes.
• Works in inter-professional teams to ensure safe, compassionate care.
• Participates in committees and supports safety and quality improvement initiatives.
