Job summary

Dominican Hospital, part of Dignity Health, located in Santa Cruz, California, is seeking a Staff RN to deliver compassionate, high-quality care within an interdisciplinary team.

You will perform comprehensive assessments, plan and implement patient care, administer medications, monitor pain, and participate in discharge planning in a fast-paced hospital setting. A CA RN license and ASN/ADN with BLS/ACLS are required; BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• ASN or equivalent nursing diploma and RN licensure in California.
• Six months of recent hospital or clinic nursing experience.
• BLS/CPR required; ACLS certification preferred.
• BSN is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Performs psychosocial/physiologic assessments that integrate changing data.
• Formulates a plan of care based on trends of similar patients, including patient education and discharge planning.
• Administers prescribed medications and intravenous solutions according to standards of care and hospital protocols.
• Assesses pain level in all patients using standard scales to promote comfort and healing.
• Tailors and prioritizes caring to individual needs, including cultural/ethical/spiritual considerations.
• Reports significant observed or reported alterations in the patient's condition promptly.

• Performs psychosocial/physiologic assessments that integrate changing data.

• Formulates a plan of care based on trends of similar patients, including patient education and discharge planning. Collaborates with patients/families to identify realistic desired outcomes.

• Administers prescribed medications and intravenous solutions according to standards of care and hospital protocols.

• Assesses pain level in all patients using "0-10", "Faces", or other approved scale to promote comfort and enable patients to participate in their healing. Provides timely/appropriate assessment/intervention. Identifies comfort function goals with patients.

• Tailors and prioritizes caring practice to individual needs, including cultural/ethical/spiritual needs. Participates in the planning of routine transitional health acre needs. (i.e. treatment options, patient placement options, end of life options). Adapts standards and guidelines for individual patients.

• Reports significant observed or reported alterations in the patient's condition in a timely manner.

Required:

• Associates Of Science ASN and Six months of recent hospital, clinic or similar nursing experience., upon hire or

• Other Nursing Diploma, upon hire and

• Registered Nurse: CA, upon hire and

• Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire and

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support, upon hire

Preferred:

$79.09 - $101.11 /hour
