Job summary

Description:Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization.Implements and monitors patient care plans.Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.Serves as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.The complexity of work requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.Must be able to work in a stressful environment.Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.The unit cares for all medical-surgical needs, including those requiring cardiac telemetry.The nurse to patient ratio is 1:6.Support is available from Patient Care Technicians and Healthcare Unit Coordinators.Utilization of virtual sitter monitoring and monitor techs is available for those on telemetry.This facility serves a diverse population of all ages.Travelers are required to work up to 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule period.Holiday requirements will be based on departmental needs.
