Job summary

St. David's South Austin Medical Center in Austin, TX is seeking a Registered Nurse, Telemetry for a 13-week contract. The Telemetry unit is a 34-bed facility providing modified total patient care to medical/surgical and surgical oncology patients, with 24-hour cardiac telemetry monitoring.

Night shift 7:00 PM–7:00 AM, on-call every other weekend. Responsibilities include administering meds, monitoring vitals and telemetry, performing assessments and care plans, and collaborating with the care

Qualifications

• Must have Med/Surg experience.
• Basic Life Support certification is required.

• Monitor patients’ vital signs and telemetry readings.
• Carry out assessments and formulate nursing care plans.
• Provide chemotherapy administration to patients.

Job Description

The Telemetry unit at St. David's South Austin Medical Center is a 34-bed facility that provides modified total patient care to general medical/surgical patients and surgical oncology patients, catering to young adults through geriatrics while utilizing age-appropriate considerations. The unit is equipped for 24-hour cardiac telemetry monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Monitor patients’ vital signs and telemetry readings.
• Carry out assessments and formulate nursing care plans.
• Provide chemotherapy administration to patients.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care.

Required Experience

• Must have Med/Surg experience.
• Basic Life Support certification is required.

Certifications/Licensure

• Chemotherapy certification required for certain procedures.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification preferred.
