Job summary

Stanford Health Care is seeking a Clinical Nurse (RN) to provide hands-on, evidence-based patient care within the California Nursing Practice Act and hospital policies. This role partners with patients and families to deliver family-centered care and to monitor nursing care quality.

You will perform assessments, develop and implement care plans, teach patients and families self-care, and respond to emergencies.

Qualifications

• The Clinical Nurse (CN) is an RN who provides hands-on care to patients, practicing in an evidence-based manner, within the Scope of Practice of the California Nursing Practice Act, regulatory requirements, standards of care, and hospital policies.
• The CN is responsible for his/her own professional development, including licensure and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• As a member of the nursing profession, the CN contributes to the profession of nursing through activities such as teaching others and sharing expertise.

Responsibilities

• Establishes therapeutic relationships and creates a climate conducive to healing for patient and family.
• Obtains accurate and relevant assessment data and interprets information to plan care.
• Plans and implements therapeutic interventions with the health care team and evaluates outcomes.
• Teaches patient and family needed information for self-care and illness prevention.
• Responds quickly to emergencies and activates appropriate protocols.
• Monitors and ensures quality healthcare practices and patient safety.
• Coordinates priorities, delegates tasks, and supports team members.
• Engages in ongoing education and leadership within the unit.
