Job summary

Mercy is seeking a registered nurse to provide patient-centered care using the nursing process, while maintaining professional accountability for the care of assigned patients. You will evaluate care effectiveness and coordinate patient care across departments, ensuring patient rights and confidentiality throughout your shift.

The role requires licensure as an RN in the hiring state or compact licensure, BLS certification, and graduation from an approved nursing program.

Qualifications

• Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
• Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure.
• Basic Life Support certification or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.
• One or more unit-specific certifications may be required as needed.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care.
• Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for assigned patients.
• Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers.
• Coordinates patient care in conjunction with other departments.
