Job Summary and Qualifications

The Operating Room Registered Nurse provides professional surgical nursing care, collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure quality care. The RN assumes responsibility for effective communication with surgical technologists, other RNs, surgeons, patients, families, and the surgical team.

What You Will Do in This Role

• Assist in emergency, elective, and scheduled procedures.
• Work with surgical teams to ensure optimal patient care.
• Serve as a liaison between the surgical team and patients' families.
• Organize supplies needed for surgeries.
• Assess patients before, during, and after surgery; maintain a sterile environment.
• Perform count procedures to prevent retained foreign objects and verify correct site, side, and level.
• Intervene during surgeries to maintain system balances and patient stability.
• Administer medications as per physician orders.
• Involve patients or support persons in post-operative care decisions and rehabilitation.

Qualifications Needed

• Graduate from an accredited Nursing program (Associate's Degree or higher).
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in your practicing state or hold an active Multi-State license.
• Current BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross.
• Previous OR RN experience required.
