Job Summary and Qualifications

The Operating Room Registered Nurse provides professional surgical nursing care, collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure quality care. The RN assumes responsibility for effective communication with surgical technologists, surgeons, patients, families, and other team members.

What You Will Do In This Role

• Assist in emergency, elective, and scheduled procedures.
• Work with surgical teams to ensure optimal patient care.
• Serve as a liaison between the surgical team and patients' families.
• Organize supplies needed for surgeries.
• Assess patients pre-, intra-, and post-operation, maintaining a sterile environment.
• Perform count procedures to prevent retained foreign objects and ensure correct surgical site, side, and level.
• Intervene to maintain patient systems and balances during surgery.
• Administer medications as per physician orders.
• Involve patients/support persons in postoperative care decisions.

Qualifications Needed

• Graduate from an accredited Nursing program (Associate's Degree or higher).
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in your practicing state or hold an active Multi-State license.
• Current BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross.
• Previous OR RN experience required.
