Job Responsibilities

Monitor and assess patients requiring close monitoring but not needing ICU care. Use monitoring equipment to detect changes and intervene in emergencies. Manage complex medications, including titration based on vital signs. The PCU nurse, also known as a step-down nurse, works in various units such as cardiac, neuro, surgical, or ER holding.
