Job summary

LewisGale Medical Center in Salem, Virginia, is hiring an RN for our Surgical ICU to provide high-quality, patient-centered care. The role collaborates with physicians and care teams to ensure safe, compassionate, and evidence-based treatment aligned with nursing standards.

The position requires RN licensure, an accredited nursing degree (BSN or ADN), ACLS/BCLS with instructor eligibility within specified timelines, and a commitment to ongoing education and patient safety.

Qualifications

• RN - Registered Nurse with state licensure or eligibility.
• Bachelor's or Associate degree in nursing.
• ACLS and BCLS required/instructor track within stated timelines.

Responsibilities

• Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s).
• Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Teaches patients/families/caregivers about patient medical condition, status, treatment plan, medications and potential side effects.
• Teaches follow-up measures including lifestyle changes and self-management.
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary team to coordinate and deliver a holistic patient treatment plan.
