Job summary

Southern Urology New Iberia Clinic is seeking an RN/Surgery Scheduler to manage pre-op and post-op instructions, coordinate with outside facilities, and schedule consent appointments with potential cardiac clearance. Applicants should have RN/LPN training, Louisiana licensure, and at least 2 years in a surgical scheduling or clinical setting, with strong communication skills and EMR familiarity.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a RN/LPN program.
• At least 2 years work history as a surgery scheduler or in a clinical or surgical setting.
• Currently licensed and in good standing (or eligible to be by state date) by Louisiana State Board of Nursing.
• Eligible for credentialing under Medicare, Medicaid and Commercial insurance programs.
• Pass basic background check for criminal history, OIG, etc.

Responsibilities

• Review pre-op and post-op instructions with patients, coordinating with outside facilities, scheduling patient appointments to sign consents and requesting cardiac clearances when warranted.
• Assist in the clinic setting when available.
• Complete surgery consent forms and maintain knowledge of medications.
