Job summary

Highmark Health in Wexford, PA seeks an experienced RN to provide nursing care during cardiac catheterization procedures in AHN Wexford's cath lab. You will help with instrument handling, medication administration, and hemodynamic monitoring to support optimal procedural outcomes.

Qualifications

• Current PA RN licensure or multi-state licensure via eNLC.
• RCIS certification encouraged within five years.
• BLS and ACLS certification required.
• Act 34, Act 33, Act 73 FBI background clearance certificates.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the care of patients undergoing cardiac catheterization, interventional radiology, electrophysiology, and hybrid operating room procedures.
• Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, obtaining informed consent, and verifying allergies and medical history.
• Integrate knowledge of cardiovascular and peripheral vascular physiology and assist accordingly.
• Position patients and select imaging parameters for special procedures.
• Prepare for and assist the physician during procedures.
• Administer and monitor moderate sedation, vasoactive medications, and anticoagulants as directed by a physician.
• Anticipate adverse reactions and respond accordingly.
• Demonstrate scrub skills during the intra-operative phase.
• Assist cardiologists by preparing equipment, managing instrumentation, and maintaining a sterile field.
• Complete required documentation for procedures, including regulatory and billing protocols.

Education

RN licensure in PA or multi-state via eNLC

Requirements

Education:

• Current State of PA RN licensure or current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).

Experience:

• Certification in area of specialty (RCIS Certification encouraged within five years).

Licenses & Certifications:

• BLS and ACLS certification required.
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
