Job summary

Cleveland Clinic’s Orthopaedic department is focused on treating conditions of bones, joints and muscles. This position supports surgical care on the Main Campus with a full-time day shift and a 7:00am–3:30pm orientation for the first 6 months, then schedule assigned near the end of orientation.

A call rotation is required including weekends, nights and holidays; you will provide nursing care, scrub and circulating functions, and OR prep for procedures as part of a dedicated team.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN, BSN).
• Current state RN licensure in Ohio.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• ACLS within 6 months of hire for procedures requiring sedation.
• At least 1 year RN experience OR completion of Perioperative Residency.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in an operative setting for patients undergoing surgical procedures.
• Perform scrub and circulating roles during operations.
• Prepare the OR, instruments, and equipment for use.
• Participate in a call rotation including weekends, nights and holidays.

Cleveland Clinic's Orthopaedic department is focused on treating patients with an array of conditions that affect the bones, muscles and joints including musculoskeletal tumors, joint replacements, adult reconstructive surgery and sports medicine.

A caregiver in this position works full-time day shift. Orientation will be 7:00am - 3:30pm for 6 months. Shift time will be assigned near the end of the 6 month orientation period.

Call rotation is required and will include weekends, nights and holidays.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Provide nursing care in an operative setting to patients undergoing surgical or invasive procedures.


• Perform scrub and circulating functions.


• Prepare the OR, surgical instruments and equipment for use.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN, BSN program)


• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)


• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross


• *If performing moderate/procedural sedation must have Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 6 months of hire.


• One year of RN experience OR completion of Cleveland Clinic’s Perioperative Residency Program

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.


• Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.


• Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.


• Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 25 pounds and ability to push, pull, and navigate supply carts weighing > than 75 pounds periodically.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $35.50

Maximum hourly: $55.60
