Job summary

Scripps Health in San Diego is seeking a Perioperative RN for a benefited, full-time night shift in the Surgery department. You will provide direct patient care within the OR and work with a team across 10 operating room suites including trauma, ortho, spine, urology, bariatric, plastics, robotics and general surgery.

This 12-hour night shift requires call (16–24 hours per month). Eligible new hires receive a $4,000 incentive and a relocation incentive of $3,000.

Qualifications

• One year of recent OR RN experience.
• California RN license (CA).
• Registered Nursing degree from an accredited school.
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• English reading/writing and spoken proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care within the OR and care team.
• Collaborate with the care team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Work in Trauma, Orthopedics, Spine, Urology, Bariatrics, Plastics, Robotics, and General Surgery across 10 OR suites.

This is a benefited, full-time 12 hour Night shift OR RN position. There is usually call required which is around 16-24 hours of call per month as a Night shift Charge RN. Located at Scripps Mercy Hospital-San Diego.

This position includes an Incentive of $4K and a Relocation Incentive of $3K to eligible new hires.

Provides direct patient care within the scope of his/her practice. Patient care includes assessment, planning and implementing a plan of care and evaluating patients' progress towards expected outcomes. The RN takes primary responsibility for the patients' care as delivered by the Care Team under his/her supervision. Works collaboratively with other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care.

Work amongst the 10 Operating Room Suites in trauma, ortho, spine, urology, bariatric, plastics, robotics and general.

In order to remain eligible for your retention incentive the following criteria must be met:

• Must remain in original hired FTE Status and Shift (if specified in offer letter)
• Must remain in original department/specialty
• Must remain in original Job Title
• Transfers to other locations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may result in forfeiting remaining incentive bonus unless specifically noted in your offer letter

Qualifications

Required:

• One year of recent RN experience in the Operating Room
• California Registered Nurse (RN) License
• Registered Nursing Degree from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association provider).
• Proficiency in speaking, reading, and following instructions in English.
• Ability to demonstrate positive behaviors in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing
• experience with trauma surgeries is strongly preferred
• 2 or more years OR experience
• Previous OR Charge experience
• EPIC system experience
• PeriOp 101 course
• Well rounded experience in all service lines
