Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital is seeking an RN Supervisor to join the OR leadership team. The role is full-time with a rotating schedule, based in Virginia Beach, VA.

The supervisor will support the manager, oversee daily nursing activities, and ensure high standards of care on their unit. The ideal candidate holds a BSN, active Virginia or compact RN license, and at least 2 years of OR nursing experience plus 1 year of OR leadership.

Qualifications

• BSN required.
• Virginia or compact multistate RN license in good standing.
• Minimum of 2 years nursing experience in the OR.
• 1 year leadership experience in the OR required.

Responsibilities

• Lead nursing team on assigned OR units and support the manager in daily operations.
• Coordinate patient care activities and ensure high standards of care.
• Mentor and evaluate clinical staff; participate in training.
• Assist with staffing decisions and unit assignments.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, protocols, and safety rules.
• Oversee inventory and ensure proper equipment is available.

They are responsible for ensuring high standards of care, coordinating daily nursing activities, and facilitating communication between medical teams. Assists with the training, mentoring, and performance evaluations of clinical staff. They also manage patient care assignments, help resolve patient and family concerns, and ensure compliance with hospital policies, protocols, and safety regulations. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs. Note: If an annual salary is posted, it is based on a full-time colleague working 2,080 hours annually.
