Job summary

The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center seeks an RN Supervisor to lead Home Health clinical staff in Dallas. This role directs daily patient care services, ensures clinical operations run efficiently, and maintains high patient satisfaction while coordinating with home care leadership.

Required ADN, RN license, and 3 years of RN experience; 1 year supervisory experience preferred. Bachelor's in Nursing is a plus.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved nursing program with an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Experience: 3 years as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and 3 years of Home Health nursing with 1 year of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and teaches specialized knowledge and skills; acts as preceptor and resource for department processes.
• Provides operational management of daily patient care services, focusing on patient satisfaction and resource management.
• Leads performance improvement activities and ensures compliance with nursing standards and policies.
• Develops and maintains patient care standards of practice; ensures quality and safety across services.
• Manages internal controls, documentation standards, and coordination with care at home leadership.

JOB SUMMARY

This position provides daily direction to clinical staff for patient care services in our care home service line. Ensures all aspects of clinical operations and internal control are effective. Organizes, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care activities within general or specialized area.

Job Duties

• Oversees and/or teaches others specialized knowledge and skills necessary to perform techniques and routines in area of specialty. Acts as a preceptor and resource for the department processes.
• Provides operational management of daily patient care services to assure high levels of patient satisfaction with a focus on PACT. Assists in the management of financial, capital, and human resources.
• Assesses, monitors, and evaluates systems for delivery of care. Leads/participates in departmental performance improvement activities and integration of services.
• Assists in development of patient care standards of practice and personnel performance. Ensures services meet established nursing standards of care and quality standards.
• Designs, executes, and delivers effective system of internal controls applicable and in compliance to laws, regulations, and internal policies and procedures. Ensures compliance with policies and procedures.
• Facilitates teamwork and staff development and staff satisfaction through planned group processes.
• Supervises clinical staff and/or other non-licensed medical or office support personnel. Responsible for recommending hiring, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions in coordination with the Clinic Manager. Ensures that new employees are oriented and trained appropriately.
• Actively works with care at home leadership as the liaison for implementation and monitoring of established documentation standards in the medical record.
• Along with administrative duties, provides direct patient care.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
