Job summary

Mercy is seeking an RN Supervisor for the Cardiac ICU to oversee patient care and operations on a day shift. This role provides clinical leadership, serves as a resource for staff, and may staff as a regular nurse when needed.

The incumbent will collaborate with management to ensure Mercy Service Standards are met across the unit. The position requires a current RN license, BLS certification, and a minimum of 2 years of patient care experience, with a Bachelor’s degree preferred; supervisor

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Nursing program.
• Current RN license in the hiring state and/or compact licensure.
• BLS certification or completion within 30 days of hire.
• 2 years' experience in patient care.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred; supervisor experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of operations and patient care in designated areas.
• Serves as a clinical resource for staff and patients in the department.
• Acts as staff nurse in the department as needed and performs duties and responsibilities in line with Mercy Service Standards.
• Assumes managerial duties delegated by a manager.

Monday-Friday

Education:

• Graduate from an accredited Nursing program.

Licensure:

• Is personally responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.

Certification:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.

Experience:

• 2 years' experience in patient care is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Supervisor experience is preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing.

Physical Requirements:

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
