Job summary

Essentia Health in St Marys Medical Center is seeking an acute care nurse supervisor to oversee nursing care delivery and patient support services under nurse leadership. You will ensure quality metrics and smooth patient transitions across the continuum while managing staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation.

You will lead staff orientation, education and evaluations, and collaborate with the unit to achieve objectives and drive performance improvement. Shift starts are day rotations.

Qualifications

• RN experience required (minimum 2 years).
• Current nursing licensure in state(s) of employment.
• Basic cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 1 month.

Responsibilities

• Assess, direct, manage and evaluate the delivery of nursing care and patient support services to achieve a specified standard of care and quality metrics for a designated patient population.
• Ensure streamlined patient care delivery systems, which promote smooth patient transitions across the continuum.
• Responsible for effective fiscal and operational management and maintains optimum patient care unit systems, including staffing, scheduling, resource allocation, and communication.
• This position collaborates in the development and achievement of unit goals and performance improvement activities.
• Works with the accountable manager to ensure staff orientation, education, development and evaluations are completed.
