Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with NY license.
• MS/BS or equivalent experience preferred.
• NY license to practice required.
• Clinical competence and strong leadership skills.
• Understanding aging and elder care.
• Ability to self-direct in delegated areas.

Responsibilities

• Assist in defining, maintaining and interpreting standards of practice.
• Perform assessment and intervention according to guidelines, policies and procedures.
• Participate in interdisciplinary committees influencing nursing policies.
• Manage admissions and documentation for residents per guidelines.
• Supervise LPNs and CNAs; assign shifts and reports.
• Coordinate MDS schedules and prepare quarterly assessments.
• Develop and update resident care plans based on needs.
• Monitor medication administration and report incidents.
• Ensure compliance with Nurse Practice Act and regulatory regs.
• Direct nursing shifts and ensure adequate stock of meds and supplies.
• Handle incident reports and physician communications.
