Job summary

Optima Care Harborview in Jersey City, NJ is seeking an experienced RN Supervisor to lead our evening shift. You will supervise nursing staff, oversee clinical operations, and partner with the DON and ADON to maintain high-quality resident care.

The ideal candidate holds an active NJ RN license, has at least 2 years in long-term care, and demonstrates strong leadership, communication, and clinical assessment skills. This is a full-time role with a 3:00 PM–11:00 PM shift and a competitive salary.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license.
• Minimum of 2 years’ nursing experience in Long-Term Care, Skilled Nursing, or Nursing Home settings.
• Prior supervisory or charge nurse experience preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment, leadership, and critical-thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support nursing staff during the evening shift.
• Oversee clinical operations to ensure quality resident care and regulatory compliance.
• Assist the Director of Nursing (DON) and Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) with daily nursing operations.
• Ensure adherence to federal, state, and facility policies, procedures, and standards.
• Assess residents, monitor changes in condition, and provide timely clinical interventions.
• Conduct routine rounds to promote resident safety and regulatory compliance.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to nursing staff.
• Participate in surveys, audits, inspections, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to improve resident outcomes.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure effective communication regarding resident care.
• Respond to emergencies and provide sound clinical decision-making.

• Ability to work independently while managing evening nursing operations.
• Knowledge of state and federal long-term care regulations.
