Compensation Range:

  • Full-Time: $80,000.00 - $85,000.00 annually
  • Part-Time: $38.00 - $41.00 per hour

Position Overview:

The RN Supervisor works under the supervision of, and in consultation with, the Chief Compliance Officer. The RN Supervisor is responsible for ensuring efficient patient care within the medical department, Children’s Crisis Respite, and Casey’s Place. The RN Supervisor provides guidance for nurses according to their training level, collaborates with medical providers to ensure quality care, and ensures compliance with all 29-I regulations and procedures to maintain licensing and reimbursement. The RN Supervisor also maintains all technological systems (EHR, Connections, etc.).

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all agency nurses at Residential and Crisis Respite Facilities and Casey’s Place.
  • Ensure personnel are competent through licensure, orientation, competencies, and annual evaluations.
  • Track medication errors and develop corrective actions with QA and Risk Management.
  • Review and assist with policies and procedures related to the Medical Department.
  • Develop and post work schedules timely.
  • Provide On-Call assistance when needed.
  • Approve and edit timesheets, PTO, etc.
  • Provide direct patient care as needed.
  • Anticipate needs of physicians and NPs.
  • Respond to medical needs and issues in Residential settings.
  • Conduct annual staff performance evaluations.
  • Ensure accurate medical records, including EHR and Connections.
  • Provide patient and family education as needed.
  • Assist with QA audits and work with the Operational Risk Manager regarding the NYS Justice Center.
  • Serve as 29I liaison between departments (Managed Care, Netsmart, Finance, MMCLs).
  • Ensure providers understand and bill services correctly under 29I regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned; duties may change at any time.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate competency and responsibility as an RN Supervisor.
  • Knowledge of medical regulations for OCFS, OPWDD, and OMH.
  • Effective communication of personnel, medical staff, and patient issues to management.
  • Required Education and Experience:
    • Graduated from an accredited nursing program and licensed as an RN in NY.
    • Experience in acute care within the last two years.
    • 3 years of Nurse Supervisor experience.
    • Experience with EHRs and tracking systems.
    • 2 years providing healthcare for children.
  • Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
    • Experience with EHRs and tracking systems.

Essential Job Qualifications:

  • Lift 25+ pounds without assistance.
  • Sit, squat, crouch, and stand for extended periods.
  • Lift arms overhead.
  • Walk up and downstairs multiple times daily.
  • Travel as needed based on departmental needs.
