Cynet HealthStaff is seeking a RN for Substance Abuse in Juneau, AK. The role is full-time, dayshift, with a 6:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. schedule on weekdays and shorter weekend mornings.

The RN provides professional nursing care, administers medications, documents care in the EHR, and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, patient-centered outcomes. Requires active Alaska RN license, BLS certification, and a minimum of 1 year of experience.

Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted RN license in Alaska.
  • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience, preferably in substance abuse.
  • Competent in medication administration and patient education.
  • Proficient with electronic health records and clinical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional nursing care across the lifespan per standards.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using nursing process.
  • Administer medications and nursing services per orders and policy.
  • Maintain medication inventory and perform quality control checks.
  • Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in EHR.
  • Open/close daily medication room and ensure safety compliance.
  • Educate patients and families about care, meds, and discharge needs.

Must-Have: Clinical competency required within 3 months and every 3 years

Description:The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care across the lifespan in accordance with organizational standards, policies, and evidence-based practice.The RN utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care while delivering high-quality, culturally sensitive, and patient-centered services.The RN collaborates with providers and interdisciplinary teams to promote optimal patient outcomes, safety, and a positive patient experience.The RN provides medication and nursing services in collaboration with providers and clinic staff to ensure high-quality care and compliance.The RN maintains medication inventory and supplies and ensures completion of required quality control checks for point-of-care testing.The RN documents all patient care and clinical services in accordance with professional nursing standards.The RN manages daily medication room clinic opening and closing.The RN communicates effectively with other departments to serve as a reliable resource for patients and clinic staff.The RN performs comprehensive patient assessments and develops individualized plans of care.The RN implements and evaluates nursing interventions and patient responses.The RN administers medications and treatments safely and accurately per provider orders and policy.The RN recognizes changes in patient condition and initiates appropriate interventions or escalation of care.The RN provides patient and family education related to care, medications, and discharge needs.The RN delivers culturally responsive, patient-centered care.The RN exercises independent nursing judgment in determining appropriate nursing actions, interventions, and priorities.The RN develops, implements, evaluates, and revises individualized nursing plans of care based on patient needs, responses, and clinical circumstances.The RN advocates for patient care and assists patients in navigating the healthcare system.The RN collaborates with providers and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care.The RN facilitates referrals, follow-up care, and continuity of services.The RN documents assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely.The RN participates in quality and performance improvement activities.The RN maintains required competencies and certifications.The RN reports adverse events, near misses, and unsafe conditions per policy.The RN demonstrates professionalism, accountability, flexibility, and teamwork.The RN supports the orientation, mentoring, and education of staff and students.The RN floats to other departments or assignments as needed.The RN must have knowledge of nursing principles, evidence-based practice, medication safety, and infection prevention.The RN must have strong clinical judgment, organization, prioritization, and communication skills.The RN must be able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.The RN must have proficiency with electronic health records and clinical systems.The RN must be able to lift, push, pull, and move up to 50 pounds.The RN must be able to stand for extended periods and perform bending, stooping, and kneeling.The RN must be able to work in a moderate-to-high noise clinical environment.Employees are responsible for complying with safe work practices, reporting injuries and unsafe conditions, and cooperating in safety investigations.
