Job summary

Rutherford Regional Health System in Rutherfordton, NC is seeking an RN Stroke & Chest Pain Quality Coordinator to lead clinical excellence and improve outcomes for stroke and cardiac patients. In this role you will oversee accreditation, coordinate with physicians and nursing leadership, chair monthly committees, and drive performance improvement across programs while ensuring timely, evidence‑based care.

Qualifications

• RN with 3–5 years in stroke and/or chest pain care.
• Experience leading quality improvement and accreditation readiness.
• Knowledge of regulatory surveys (JCAHO/State Health Dept) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Stroke & Chest Pain Program Leader, overseeing accreditation and certification.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing leadership, EMS, and teams to ensure standards.
• Chair monthly Stroke & Chest Pain Committee meetings to drive accountability.
• Lead program development, staff education, and performance improvement initiatives.
• Conduct daily concurrent chart reviews and communicate findings to teams.
• Analyze data, trend performance, and report to approved databases.
• Prepare for Joint Commission and State Health Department surveys.
• Develop, revise, and implement policies and practice guidelines.
• Support high-quality nursing documentation within the EHR and education across venues.
• Serve as clinical point of contact for telemedicine stroke and chest pain services.
• Collaborate with medical community and partners to promote best practices.
• Lead and support PDSA and other quality improvement methods.
