Job summary

The University of Virginia Health System is seeking a dedicated registered nurse to join the Stem Cell Transplant Unit in Charlottesville. This specialized 15‑bed unit focuses on Cellular Therapy, Stem Cell Transplantation, and recovery, with a 1:3 nurse‑to‑patient ratio on day and night shifts to deliver highly personalized care.

You will administer chemotherapy and immunosuppressive medications, initiate and monitor HSCT and CAR‑T cell infusions, educate patients and families, manage

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• BSN required within 5 years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive, patient-centered care to HSCT and cellular therapy patients.
• Administer chemotherapy, immunosuppressive medications, and other complex therapies.
• Initiate, maintain, and monitor HSCT and CAR‑T cell infusions and care for patients in clinical trials.
• Initiate and monitor blood product transfusions.
• Assess patients for complications (GVHD, infection, organ dysfunction) and intervene as needed.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans with advanced assessment and critical thinking.
