Huntsville Hospital's Mother/Baby unit is a 38-bed unit focused on family-centered care for postpartum mothers and newborns, supporting skin-to-skin bonding, breastfeeding, rooming-in, and designated quiet hours.

We are seeking experienced registered nurses to assess, educate, and care for mothers and newborns across shifts while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team and participating in ongoing maternal/newborn education.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current Alabama or multi-state licensure.
• BLS and NRP certification required within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess, educate, and care for postpartum mothers and newborns throughout assigned shifts.
• Promote skin-to-skin bonding and breastfeeding, providing lactation support when needed.
• Prioritize patient care based on individualized assessments and collaborate with multidisciplinary team members.
• Facilitate rooming-in and maintain safe, quiet environments for families.
• Participate in ongoing education and training related to maternal/newborn care and breastfeeding.

Education
