Job summary

St. Tammany Health System is seeking an experienced registered nurse for a part-time 16-hour weekly schedule in Covington. The role includes direct patient care during designated shifts and participation in stress testing, transesophageal echo, and Holter monitoring.

Weekend and holiday on-call coverage are required. Qualified candidates hold a Board Certified Nursing Program credential, an active LA RN license, and current BLS/ALS certifications with ILCOR-approved courses.

Qualifications

• Successfully completed Board Certified Nursing Program.
• Current LA RN License required.
• Current BLS and ALS certifications through ILCOR courses are required (e.g., AHA/Red Cross). The course must include a manikin check off.
• Must be able to work flexible hours and rotate call.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to a group of patients during a designated time frame using nursing processes and teamwork.
• Perform Stress Testing, Transesophageal Echo, Cardioversion, Tilt Table Testing, Holter Monitor Scanning, Bubble Study, and EKG.
• Take rotating on-call weekend and holiday coverage.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 16

Work Shift: Monday - Friday: 7:00a to 3:30p and/or 7:30a to 4:00p | Rotating Holidays & Weekends on Call (8-12)

Summary of the Job:

Responsible and accountable for a group of patients during a designated time frame and to provide care to these patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/instrumentation, and other health care team members. Performs essential functions needed to carryout Stress Testing, Transesophageal Echo, Cardioversion, Tilt Table Testing, Holter Monitor Scanning, Bubble Study, & EKG. This employee will also take rotating call for weekend and holiday coverage.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Successfully completed Board Certified Nursing Program
• Current LA RN License required
• Current BLS and ALS certifications through any International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) provided courses such as but not limited to: Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, and American Red Cross. The ILCOR course must include a manikin check off
• Must be able to work flexible hours and rotate call.

Physical Demands:

Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 20 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.

Frequently (34%-66%) - lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, reaching, handling/feeling, talking
