Job summary

Mercy Clinic Spine & Pain Management is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join the team in a full-time, day-shift role in the St. Louis area.

You will use the nursing process to provide patient care, coordinate with other departments, and uphold Mercy’s standards of care and patient rights. Primary responsibilities include patient assessment, assisting with procedures, administering medications, monitoring conditions, and coordinating follow-up care and education.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Knowledge of the principles and skills needed for nursing, care, examination, diagnostic and treatment room procedures.
• Knowledge of medications and their effects, patient education, principles to develop a self-care program, instruments and common safety practices.
• Current valid state license.
• CPR certification or obtain within 90 days of employment.
• Skill in assisting and performing a variety of medical treatments and procedures.
• Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
• Must be able to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and policies.
• Must be able to communicate clearly and establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, staff and the public.
• Basic computer terminal and keyboard skills, or the ability to learn these skills, in order to access information and enter clinical data.
• Equipment Used: Must be able to operate equipment normally related to the specialty of the clinic.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assess patients, including pain evaluations, vitals, and medical history.
• Assist providers with spine and pain management procedures and treatments.
• Administer medications and injections; support IV therapy as needed.
• Monitor patients and respond to changes in condition.
• Coordinate care, including follow-ups, referrals, and patient education.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with clinical standards.
• Support a safe, efficient clinic environment and assist with lab/testing as needed.
