Job summary
MetroHealth Rehabilitation Institute is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Neuro Trauma Recovery Spinal Cord Injury Physical Rehab Unit (6N). The role focuses on ventilator/trach care, SCI retraining, wound prevention, and implementation of specialty treatments to restore function.
Daily tasks include patient education for families and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. The unit handles spinal cord injury and complex orthopedic cases, with rotating shifts and sign-on incentives.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
- Current RN licensure in the State of Ohio.
- Current BLS (AHA) certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
- BSN preferred.
- Certification in Rehabilitation Nursing or related Magnet-recognized certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide ventilator and trach care.
- Perform SCI retraining including bowel/bladder management.
- Wound prevention and care.
- Apply specialty treatments and technology for regain of function.
- Educate patients and families on rehabilitation goals and progress.
