Job summary

Mercy Clinic Springfield - Urology Clinic is seeking a full-time nurse to provide professional nursing care in a clinic setting. You will assist physicians, complete charting and perform essential nursing tasks with compassion and accuracy.

Responsibilities include patient education, medication knowledge, and maintaining a safe, supportive environment for patients and families as part of Mercy's healing ministry.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Knowledge of nursing principles, patient examination and treatment room procedures.
• Knowledge of medications and patient education, self-care instructions.
• Licensure: Current valid state license.
• Certifications: CPR certification or obtain within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care to patients as directed by physicians.
• Assist physicians in treatment and complete related clinical paperwork.
• Communicate with patients, families, visitors and employees in a caring, professional manner.

Position Details:

Mercy Clinic Springfield - Urology Clinic Full-Time: Monday - Friday Days **ELIGIBLE FOR UP TO $5,000 SIGN-ON**

Overview:

Provides professional nursing care to patients within the medical practice in support of, and as directed by, the physicians. Assists the physician in the treatment of patients and completes related clinical paperwork. The incumbent in this position shall carry out his or her responsibilities and integrate into his or her work ethic the Mercy Philosophy of caring for the sick and suffering, respect for human life and the dignity of each person, applying Christian values to all crucial human issues in the area over which he or she has responsibility. In communicating with patients, families, visitors and employees, a caring, friendly, personal and professional approach is expected. Performs related duties as assigned. Transforming the Health of Our Communities

Our Mercy health system was founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1986. But our heritage goes back more than 195 years. It began with an Irish woman named Catherine McAuley, who was determined to help women and children in Dublin experiencing poverty. Though Catherine had a modest upbringing, she received an unexpected inheritance that allowed her to fulfill that dream. In 1827, she opened the first House of Mercy in Dublin, intending to teach skills to women and educate children. Many volunteers came to help. A few years later, Catherine founded the Sisters of Mercy, one of the first religious orders whose Sisters were free to walk among the poor and visit them in their homes. In 1843, the Sisters of Mercy came to the United States. In 1856, they traveled to St. Louis. In the years to come, they would establish hospitals throughout the Midwest. Many of these would join together in 1986 as Mercy.
