Working Hours: Saturday and Sunday 0630-1900

Overview

The Circulating Nurse is a Registered Nurse responsible for planning, organizing, and administering care within the scope of his/her training and expertise. The Circulating Nurse assists surgeons and other healthcare professionals during surgical procedures, working outside the operating room’s sterile field to ensure a clean and sterile environment. Responsibilities include administration of medications, implementation and maintenance of surgical counts, preparation for operations/procedures, documentation of surgery/procedure, monitoring perioperative staff, instruments, and equipment, and delivery of surgical specimens.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and administer patient care in collaboration with other disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with hospital objectives and policies and the Nurse Practice Act of the state of Arkansas.

Qualifications

• New RN graduate from an accredited nursing program or a Registered Nurse with an unencumbered license in good standing to practice in the state of Arkansas. BSN preferred.
• Healthcare CPR required; some areas may require ACLS, PALS, and/or NALS—training is provided.
• Specialty units require and will provide specific specialty education.
• Applies basic knowledge and skills to meet standard of care.
• Able to practice as a full partner of an interdisciplinary team.

This job will be authorized 48.00 hours bi‑weekly.
