Position Overview

Registered Nurse

Department: Short Stay Unit

Location: Trinity Health Ann Arbor

Minimum rate of pay: $34.77 PLUS Daily PAY

Position Purpose

The Short Stay Unit has 25 bays, with 32 colleagues, primarily supporting adult patients over 17 years old. They treat post-surgical and post-procedural patients, as well as infusion and transfusion patients. Medical and surgical patients with various diagnoses are expected to stay within 24-48 hours.

The Telemetry Monitor Unit with 28 colleagues monitors patients remotely using continuous tele-visual monitoring to ensure safety. Staff here also handle patient monitoring and equipment maintenance at the central station and on care units.

Shifts Available: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM

Status: Full time, Part time. Every other weekend and holiday shifts are required for full-time and part-time team members.

Required Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program, qualifying for the NCLEX exam. BSN preferred.
• Current Michigan RN license.
• BLS certification.
• ACLS certification required for departments: Float Pool, Cardiac/Cath Lab, AICU, Emergency.

Experience

Canadian RNs are encouraged to apply. Additional requirements include:

• Effective January 1, 2013, new hires must have a BSN or agree in writing to obtain one within five years of hire or transfer to an RN role.
• Knowledge of nursing theory, practice, and age-specific needs.
• Strong interpersonal skills for patient and coworker relationships.
• Critical thinking skills for job responsibilities.
• Attention to detail in nursing care planning and execution.
