Job Summary and Qualifications

The RN Shift Supervisor ensures high-quality, patient-centered care and coordinates all unit functions during the shift. In collaboration with management, the RN Shift Supervisor directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care, serves as a resource for staff, and models our organization’s values to support an exceptional patient experience and clinical outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and quality care.
• Participating in ongoing assessment of patient care quality in collaboration with management.
• Collaborating with team members to foster a supportive environment that improves outcomes and service.
• Supporting a patient-first approach and engaging in service recovery when needed.
• Operationalizing nursing strategies to improve staff engagement, including rounding initiatives.
• Providing input on hiring, training, performance evaluations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions.
• Managing staff scheduling and ensuring appropriate staffing levels.
• Supporting inventory control and supply management.

Qualifications needed:

• Registered Nurse license in Texas or a compact state.
• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• At least 2 years of critical care experience in an acute care setting.
• ACLS certification and instructor status to be obtained within 30 days of employment.
• BCLS certification and instructor status to be obtained within 30 days of employment.
